NEW LONDON, Conn. — The Iona University men’s water polo team picked up a pair of wins at Connecticut College as the Gaels dominated the host Camels, 21-14, before cruising past Wheaton College, 27-7.
Iona opened the day by cutting down the host Camels thanks to a team-high seven goals from senior Pavle Musikic.
Freshmen Christian Couch and Daniel Raz each added four goals for Iona, while PJ Bartzen earned the win in net, making 15 saves. The Gaels also registered 14 steals as a team.
The Gaels carried their offensive momentum into the second game to top Wheaton by 20 goals.
Twelve different Gaels found the back of the net, led by freshman Logan Hardel with four goals. Brett Grady and Charlie Harbour each recorded hat-tricks. A total of 16 goals were assisted by a Gael in the win as the team also swiped 23 steals.
Kyle Chin Lee and Eric Caplener combine for seven saves while splitting time in cage.
