BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Sebastian Hidalgo (Jr., Miami, Fla./Columbus) of Florida State University “A” accounted for 18 goals during a 3-0-1 home weekend for the Seminoles in Tallahassee, Fla., at the Morcom Aquatics Center, to earn the September 21 Men’s Collegiate Club Florida Division Player of the Week award.
Competing in the opening weekend of Florida Division competition, Hidalgo made the fourth quarter his domain by tallying 10 of his 17 goals in the closing minutes of the Seminoles’ contests versus the University of Florida “A” (17-16 W), the University of Central Florida (20-10 W), Florida International University (15-15 Tie) and the University of Florida “B” (15-6 W).
His fourth quarter heroics included:
- Scoring the game-tying goal to cap off a three-marker, fourth-quarter comeback versus Florida International
- Scoring four goals in the fourth quarter to erase a three-score deficit to defeat Florida “A” by one
Overall, Hidalgo accounted for five goals against Florida “A”, six versus Florida International and seven more facing Florida “B”, while not scoring versus Central Florida.
