BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Former Gannon University athlete Alexandros Kotskar joins the Mercyhurst University men’s water polo coaching staff as an assistant coach for head coach Brandon Bricarell.
A native of Voula, Greece and graduate of Athinaiki Agogh, Kotskar was named a 2025 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Division II First Team All-America following a standout senior season for the Golden Knights.
The career leader in both goals (288) and points (363) at Gannon, he concluded his senior campaign with 90 goals, 31 assists, and 121 total points. He was one of just two Gannon players to exceed 100 points in 2025.
A three-time Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) All-Conference selection (2024 – Honorable Mention; 2023, 2025 – First Team), the two-time ACWPC Division II First Team All-America honoree (2023, 2025) was recognized with a 2025-26 Division II Athletic Directors Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Award for his academic prowess.
