BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Trevor Jossart of Augustana College is the 2021-22 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Women’s Division III Sports Information Director of the Year.

Selected by the CWPA Director of Communications, the SID of the Year award is presented to individuals who “have achieved notable excellence in the field of water polo communications during the past academic year.”

Named the Augies’ Director of Athletic Communications in May 2021, Jossart arrived in Rock Island, Ill., after a three year stint as the sports information director at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas. At Southwestern he coordinated all aspects of athletic communications, including media copy, student-athlete profiles, graphic design and social media output. He handled all record keeping, game management and the athletic website for the Moundbuilders 17 varsity sports.

A native of Appleton, Wisconsin, Jossart graduated from Marian University in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, sport and recreation management. He received his Master of Science degree in marketing, sports marketing and media from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia in 2018. He also has a certificate in the Art of Persuasive Writing and Public Speaking from Harvard University, which he obtained in June of 2020.

He has been involved in projects outside his sports information duties as well. He worked as a site expert and college football reporter at FanSided for three seasons from 2016 through 2018. He also served as the social media and event coordinator at Metcalfe’s Market in Madison, Wisconsin for a six-month period in 2018.

An active member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), he served as a staff writer for the NAIA Hoops Report and served as the NAIA-SIDA Game Highlight Contest Coordinator last year.  He is currently the general manager for The Advantage in the annual TBT basketball tournament. The Advantage is an all-NAIA alumni team.

The award marks the 12th Women’s Division III SID of the Year award presented by the league office.  Former Washington & Jefferson College Sports Information Director and current Director of Athletics Scott McGuinness claimed accolades during the 2010-11 and 2013-14 academic years, while Grove City College’s Ryan Briggs took honors in 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2020-21.  Former W&J SID Sean King joins Briggs with a trio after three-peating with laurels in 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17 before Macalester College’s Matt McLagan became the first SID from outside Pennsylvania to claim the accolade by taking the 2017-18 award.  Austin College’s Jeff Kelly earned notice in 2018-19 and Wittenberg University’s A.J. Meyer notched the 2019-20 award.
