BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Brown University goalie Marisol Dakan (Sr., Pasadena, Calif./La Salle) keeps adding to her legacy as she is caps off her intercollegiate career by rating among 10 Bears’ student-athletes to garner Spring 2018 Academic All-Ivy accolades. The five men and five women were key contributors to their respective spring teams with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.

A two-time Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-America Honorable Mention selection (2015, 2018) and Neuroscience major, she ranks as Brown’s all-time leader in saves as Dakan concluded her career with 1,131 stops. This past year she earned Second Team CWPA All-Tournament Team honors, gained CWPA Defensive Player of the Week four times (February 9, March 29, April 5, April 18), and totaled 245 saves.

She concluded her time in Providence, R.I. as an eight-time Defensive Player of the Week recipient. Dakan received the February 23 and March 9 Defensive Player of the Week awards during her freshman season of 2015 prior to notching the February 22 Defensive Player of the Week award in 2016 as a sophomore and the April 17 award in 2017 as a junior.

Each Ivy League institution (Brown, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, Yale University) was permitted to nominate 10 athletes for a total of 80 overall selections.

Collegiate Water Polo Association
