CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 19-ranked Harvard University men’s water polo team won its seventh straight game and capped a perfect 3-0 weekend in its home Harvard Invitational with an 18-10 defeat of Division III No. 1 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges at Blodgett Pool. The win evens the Crimson’s record at 10-10 on the season.

Nine different players wound up on the scoresheet with three recording hat tricks. Junior Dean Strauser, sophomore Connor Kim and first-year Clay Carrington all scored three times. With both Harvard goalies down for the second game in a row, senior co-captain Vilas Sogaard-Srikrishnan took to the cage. This time, he went the distance and provided eight saves and five steals in just his second career appearance in goal.

Pomona-Pitzer scored first and led at 2-1 before Harvard rattled off five straight goals; beginning with the first of the game from senior Jack Burghardt.

The Crimson dominated the second quarter, 5-1, to own a 10-3 halftime lead.

Sogaard-Srikrishnan’s top save of the game came on a second-quarter penalty shot that led immediately to a Harvard goal on the other end; finished by junior Lukas Peabody.

The third quarter featured high-tempo action with Harvard scoring six times to the Sagehens’ four as Pomona-Pitzer failed to challenge the home team for the majority of the contest.

Carrington (three), Kim (three), Strauser (three), Peabody (two), Emil Sogaard-Srikrishnan (two), Jacob Tsotadze (two), Burghardt, Bradford Dickson and Felix Pal combined for the Crimson’s 18 goals.
