BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Recent Bucknell University graduate Boati Motau (Johannesburg, South Africa/Roedean School South Africa) factored in Group D competition for the Republic of South Africa against Spain and Great Britain during the opening days of the 2025 World Aquatics Championship slated for Friday-Thursday, July 11-24, in Singapore, Republic of Singapore.

A member of South Africa’s squad at the 2020/2021 Olympics in Tokyo, Motau shot one-for-two (zero-for-one action shots / one-for-one man-up) and contested one sprint during 17:51 of action on Friday, July 11, as South Africa dropped a 23-4 contest to Spain. She returned to the water on Sunday, July 13, and shot zero-for-four on action shots as Great Britain topped South Africa by a 12-3 score.
South Africa will seek to acquire its inaugural win at the event on Tuesday, July 15, at 12:10 a.m. Eastern/9:10 p.m. Pacific, Monday, July 14, in a face-off with France.
During her time in Lewisburg with Bucknell, Motau notched 96 goals during a four-year career with the Bison (2022-to-2025). As a freshman in 2022, she scored 13 times and added 19 assists in 25 games. She tacked on 30 goals in 2023 as a sophomore before notching 24 goals, five assists and 24 steals as a junior in 2024. In 2025, she chipped in 29 goals.
