STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Wagner College head men’s and women’s water polo coach Chris Radmonovich is stepping down following a nine-year coaching career with the Seahawks.

Under Radmonovich, Wagner has developed into one of the most prestigious programs in the country and has become a mainstay in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) National Top 25 polls.

During his successful Seahawks’ tenure, the three-time Women’s Water Polo Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Coach of the Year (2013, 2016, 2018) guided his women’s teams to more than 200 wins, six consecutive MAAC titles, three undefeated MAAC seasons and two National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Tournament victories. His incomparable run featured a staggering seven 25-plus win seasons, highlighted by a program-best 30-10 season in 2019.

He finished his career with a coaching record of 223-103 and a winning percentage of .664. His 223 wins are a Wagner record and put him in a group of elite coaching company.

Additionally, Radmonovich helped develop a total of eight women’s All-America selections.

In 2015, Radmonovich was selected to be the inaugural coach of the Wagner men’s program. He held that position for all three seasons of the program’s history and compiled a total of 42 wins, improving each year. With a second-place finish in the 2017 Men’s Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference Tournament (MAWPC), he earned Coach of the Tournament honors. In three seasons, he developed and coached two Honorable Mention All-America picks in Ciaran Wolohan and Jasmin Kolasinac.

Radmonovich emphasized the student side of student-athlete as well. In his nine seasons with the women’s program, his athletes amassed 117 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic Honors and led the nation in team GPA five times. On the men’s side, his athletes compiled a total of 36 ACWPC All-Academic Honors in only three seasons.

A national search for a replacement is underway.
