BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA)/Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC)/Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Commissioner Dan Sharadin on the decision to eliminate athletics at St. Francis College Brooklyn:

“It is definitely sad to hear the news regarding the elimination of athletics at St. Francis College. The effects of the pandemic are still being felt and the loss of opportunities is a tragic outcome. St. Francis Brooklyn has been one of the premier programs in the CWPA for decades, representing the conference at the NCAA Championship on several occasions. It has been a remarkable feat for a small school with no student housing to speak of, and a limited budget. Coaches like Carl Quigley and athletic administrators like Irma Garcia made it work and provided countless athletes an opportunity to play at the highest level. It is disappointing for all involved and out hearts go out to the athletes, coaches, and staff that are affected,”
