2018 Men’s Collegiate Club New York Division Schedule
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2018 Men’s Collegiate Club New York Division schedule.
Divided into two regions, the New York Division is comprised of Columbia University, New York University, Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute, the United States Merchant Marine Academy and the United States Military Academy in the East, while Binghamton University, Colgate University, Cornell University, Hamilton College, Syracuse University and the University of Buffalo make up the West. Entering is 24th season of competition, the New York Division has been captured by Army (1995, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2016, 2017), the Rochester Institute of Technology (1996), the University of Rochester (1996), Cornell (2000, 2012, 2013, 2014), Colgate (2003, 2005), the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (2004), Columbia (2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2015) and NYU (2007).
Competition begins with a 22-game crossover tournament between the East and West Regions on Saturday-Sunday, September 22-23 at Army’s Crandall and Intramural Pools in West Point, N.Y. Following a 12-game West Region event on Saturday-Sunday, September 29-30, at Cornell’s Teagle Hall in Ithaca, N.Y., the regular season concludes with a 10-game clash at Army’s Crandall Pool.
The division championship will be decided with an 11-game tournament on Saturday-Sunday, October 20-21, at Hamilton’s Bristol Pool in Clinton, N.Y.
The victor of the division championship earns an automatic berth to the 2018 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship slated to be hosted by the University of Arizona in Tucson, Ariz., on Friday-Sunday, November 9-11.
