BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the Week 2/September 26 Men’s Collegiate Club Top 20 and Division III Top 10 Polls for the 2019 season.

Defending National Collegiate Club Champion Lindenwood University maintains its position on top of the national rankings, while Washington University in St. Louis takes back sole possession of the No. 1 spot in the Division III poll after tying with the University of California-Santa Cruz last week.

Released each week during the season, the Top 20 and Division III Top 10 polls have no bearing on qualifiers for either the National Collegiate Club Championship or the Division III Collegiate Club Championship.

2019 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 (Week 2/September 26)

Lindenwood University is once again the unanimous top team in the nation per the Week 2/September 26 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 rankings for the 2019 season.

A four-time National Collegiate Club Champion (2014, 2015, 2016, 2018) and three-time Division III Club Champion (2006, 2007, 2008), the Lions (100 points) are the unanimous favorite to collect the program’s eighth National Championship crown.  Historically, Lindenwood has a chance to tie the all-time record of five Men’s National Collegiate Club Championships held by California Polytechnic State University (1999, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2007) if the Lions can stay at the head of the pride in 2019.

The first three positions remain the same from the preseason and Week 1 voting as the University of California (92 points) and Cal Poly (89 points) follow the Lions for another seven-day stretch.

The University of Utah (81 points) moves up to No. 4, while the University of California-San Diego (80 points) backs up to No. 5 with San Diego State University (69 points), the University of California-Davis (64 points), Michigan State University (60 points), the University of Florida (58 points) and the University of Texas (52 points) holding down the No. 6-to-10 berths, respectively.

The University of California-Los Angeles (49 points), The Ohio State University (42 points), the University of Michigan (35 points), Texas A&M University (30 points) and California State University-Long Beach (29 points) come in at No. 11-to-15, with the quintet of the University of Arizona (37 points), Pennsylvania State University (21 points), Boston College (18 points), Villanova University (16 points) and the University of Alabama (8 points) finishing out the Top 20.

The 2019 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship will be decided at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pa., on Friday-Sunday, November 15-17.

2019 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 (Week 2/September 26)

Six-time defending Division III Collegiate Club National Champion Washington University in St. Louis, which ranked at No. 1 in the 2019 Preseason Poll before tying with three-time National Champion (2011, 2013, 2014) the University of California-Santa Cruz last week, reacquires sole possession of the No. 1 spot in the Week 2/September 26 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 Poll.

The 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 Division III Collegiate Club Champion, Washington in St. Louis (96 points) edges out UC-Santa Cruz (90 points) in a Week 2 poll that experiences radical changes from its immediate predecessor.

Grinnell College (86 points) jumps three places to take over at No. 3, while Tufts University (85 points) slips to No. 4.

The United States Coast Guard Academy (81 points), New York University (79 points) and Bates College (66 points) assume the No. 5-to-7 berths, respectively, with Carnegie Mellon University (61 points), Colby College (57 points) and Amherst College (26 points) rounding out the Top 10.
