2021 Men’s Collegiate Club Colonial Division Schedule

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2021 Men’s Collegiate Club Colonial Division schedule.

Comprised of Amherst College, the United States Coast Guard Academy, the University of Massachusetts, Wesleyan University, Williams College and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, the Colonial Division will contest its sixth season in 2021 following victories by Williams (2015), Wesleyan (2016), Amherst (2017) and Coast Guard (2018, 2019).  The 2020 season was not contested due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The division features two 12-game regular season tournaments in 2021, both hosted by Williams in Williamstown, Mass., on Saturday-Sunday, September 25-26, and on Saturday-Sunday, October 2-3.

The order of finish from the regular season establishes the Colonial Division’s seeding for the combined Colonial/North Atlantic “A” and “B” Championships slated for Saturday-Sunday, October 16-17, at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Mass., and on Saturday-Sunday, October 23-24, at Middlebury in Middlebury, Vt., respectively.

The “A” Championship will pit the top three finishers from the North Atlantic Division versus the top three teams from the Colonial Division in a nine-game event to determine an overall champion.  In addition, the top finishing teams in both divisions claim their respective group’s titles.

A week later, the “B” Championship pits the No. 4-to-6 seeds from both the North Atlantic and Colonial Divisions in another nine-game tournament.

The North Atlantic and Colonial Division top Division III finishers at the “A Championship both earn automatic berths to the 2021 Division III Collegiate Club Championship slated to be hosted by Colby on Saturday-Sunday, October 30-31.  Due to Colby claiming a guaranteed position as the host institution, the runner-up in the North Atlantic Division will claim the group’s position for the Division III Championship.
