BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Stanford University ascends to rate as the unanimous top-ranked team in the nation as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2022 Week 14/April 27 Women’s Varsity National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.
Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, the University of Michigan and Austin College hang on at No. 1 in the Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls, respectively.
Voted on by a panel of coaches from the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), the Golden Coast Conference, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Big West Conference, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the CWPA based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls are compiled and released on Wednesday during the season.
2022 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 14)
Stanford University garners 100 points to stand at No. 1 in the Week 14/April 27 National Top 25 Poll.
The Cardinal (100 points) – which ranked a No. 1 in the Week 6-to-10 polls – topped previously top-billed the University of Southern California by an 11-9 score over the weekend to claim the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Championship. The Trojans (96 points) slip to No. 2, while the University of California (91 points) and the University of California-Los Angeles (89 points) rise and fall from No. 6 and 3 to take over at No. 3 and 4, respectively.
The University of California-Irvine (84 points) remains at No. 5 with the University of Hawaii (79 points) backing up to No. 6 in front of the University of Michigan (76 points) and Fresno State University (72 points) as both programs retain their prior positions.
Arizona State University (65 points) and Long Beach State University (65 points) move into a tie at No. 10 with the University of California-San Diego (59 points) surpassing the University of California-Davis (57 points) to assume the No. 11 spot.
Wagner College (50 points), Indiana University (45 points) and San Jose State University (43 points) assume command of the No. 13-to-15, slots, with Loyola Marymount University (39 points) and the University of California-Santa Barbara (38 points) rising to take over at No. 16 and 17.
University of the Pacific (35 points) and Harvard University (29 points) hold the No. 18 and 19 positions with Princeton University (23 points) and San Diego State University (23 points) tying at No. 20.
Brown University (17 points), Long Island University (13 points), California State University-Northridge (9 points) and Marist College (3 points) compete the Top 25.

Pomona-Pitzer Colleges remains unchallenged at No. 1 in the 2022 Women’s Varsity Division III Week 14/April 27 Top 10 Poll.
2022 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Champion Pomona-Pitzer (100 points) – which topped Whittier College (95 points) by a 16-12 score in the SCIAC title game – continues as the unanimous top pick. Whittier’s runner-up marks allows the Poets to surpass Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (89 points) and take over at No. 2, while Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Champion Austin College (84 points) moves up one slot to No. 4.
California Lutheran University (81 points), the University of La Verne (74 points), Chapman University (72 points), the University of Redlands (64 points), Augustana College (60 points) and Occidental College (45 points) complete the Top 10.

The 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and now 2022 league champion thanks to a 10-4 victory over Harvard University (95 points) during this past weekend at Bucknell University, Michigan (100 points) remains the undisputed/unanimous No. 1 selection.
The rankings reflect the order of finish at the CWPA Division I Championship as Harvard, Princeton University (90 points), Brown University (85 points) and Saint Francis University (64 points) follow the Wolverines at No. 2-to-5, respectively.

The Kangaroos (100 points) wrap-up the 2022 campaign as a unanimous No. 1 pick with Augustana College (95 points) – which fell to Austin by an 18-7 score in the CWPA Division III Championship game over the weekend at Grove City College – remains at No. 2.
Macalester College (85 points), Wittenberg University (72 points) and Grove City (64 points) complete the rankings.
