BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2023 Week 9/April 6 Women’s Collegiate Club Top 20 and Division III Top 10 Polls.
2023 Women’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 (Week 9/April 6)
Defending Women’s National Collegiate Club Champion the University of California and the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) remain deadlocked at No. 1 in the 2023 Week 9/April 6 Women’s Collegiate Club Top 20 Poll.
California (95 points) and UCLA (95 points) – which rated in a three-way tie with the University of Michigan (93 points) last week – remain in a dead heat for the top spot and gain a one point margin over the now third place Wolverines.
Changes continue as Arizona State University (87 points) and Texas A&M University (82 points) exchange the No. 4 and 5 spots, while the University of California-Santa Barbara (73 points) and the University of California-San Diego (72 points) remain at No. 6 and 7 for another week.
The University of Notre Dame (67 points) moves up two places to No. 8 and the duo of San Diego State University (60 points) and California Polytechnic State University (55 points) back-up to No. 9 and 10 to complete the upper echelon of the Top 20 Poll.
Boston University (49 points) remains on the doorstep of a Top 10 ranking at No. 11 with newly crowned Southeast Division Champion Florida State University (42 points) improving six positions to rate at No. 12.
Adjustments from the Week 8/March 30 poll continue as Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech) (40 points) takes over at No. 13, the University of California-Davis (35 points) and the University of Washington (32 points) both move up one place to No. 14 and 15, while West Chester University (20 points) jumps four berths to No. 16.
The University of Utah (19 points) remains at No. 17, Michigan State University (14 points) cracks the Top 20 at No. 18 and Southeast Division Championship runner-up the University of Central Florida (7 points) settles at No. 19.
A total of 21 teams appear in this week’s Top 20 as Washington University in St. Louis (5 points) and Tufts University (5 points) are tied for the final spot.

2023 Women’s Collegiate Club Division III National Top 10 (Week 9/April 6)
Washington University in St. Louis continues at No. 1 in the 2023 Week 9/April 6 Division III Top 10 poll.
The Bears (97 points) and Tufts University (95 points) remain constant at No. 1 and 2 as the Division III rankings experience some changes this week.
The University of California-Santa Cruz (89 points) breaks a tie with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (87 points) at No. 3 as the Banana Slugs and Engineers now rate at No. 3 and 4, respectively, while Middlebury College (82 points) remains at No. 5.
Similar to UC-Santa Cruz and MIT, Grinnell College (73 points) breaks a tie with Colby College at No. 6 to acquire sole possession of the position. Previously not ranked New York University (71 points) cracks the Top 10 at No 7 with the United States Coast Guard Academy (63 points), Carleton College (50 points) and Saint Olaf College (34 points) hanging on at No. 8-to-10.
