BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The University of Southern California remains No. 1 in the Division I ranks and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges retains the top spot among Division III teams after 14 weeks of varsity competition as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2023 Week 14/April 19 Women’s Varsity National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.
Princeton University remains at No. 1 in the CWPA Division I Top Five Poll, while Augustana College retains the lead position in the CWPA Division III Top Five Poll.
Voted on by a panel of coaches from the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), the Golden Coast Conference, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Big West Conference, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the CWPA based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls are compiled and released on Wednesday during the season.
2023 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 14/April 19)
The University of Southern California becomes a unanimous top choice as the 2023 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Week 14/April 19 Poll is released.
USC (100 points) achieves a four point lead over runner-up Stanford University (96 points) as Southern California holds the lead position for the second time in as many weeks after knocking off the Cardinal two weeks ago.
The University of California-Los Angeles (92 points) stays at No. 3, while the University of California-Irvine (86 points) jumps to No. 4 and drives the University of Hawaii (83 points), the University of California (82 points) and Long Beach State University (76 points) back to No. 5-to-7, respectively.
Fresno State University (70 points) rises one position to No. 8 with Princeton University (62 points) and the University of Michigan (62 points) deadlocking at No. 9 to complete the Top 10.
The University of California-Santa Barbara (59 points), the University of California-Davis (56 points) and University of the Pacific (56 points) account for No. 11 and 12 with the University of California-San Diego (48 points) holding at No. 14 for another seven-day run.
Indiana University (41 points) moves up to No. 15 with Harvard University (40 points) and Loyola Marymount University (39 points) sliding to No. 16 and 17.
Arizona State University (32 points) and Wagner College (32 points) are tied at No. 18 with San Jose State University (24 points), Brown University (21 points), Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (14 points), California State University-Northridge (12 points), San Diego State University (7 points) and Marist College (5 points) completing the Top 25.

Pomona-Pitzer (100 points), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (94 points), the University of La Verne (91 points), California Lutheran University (85 points), the University of Redlands (78 points) and Augustana College (75 points) continue at No. 1-to-6, respectively, with Whittier College (68 points) and Austin College (68 points) tying at No. 7.
Chapman University (63 points) and Macalester College (33 points) complete the Top 10.

Augustana (98 points) and Austin College (97 points) remain at No. 1 and 2, while Macalester College (89 points) breaks a tie with Connecticut College (86 points) from last week to pull ahead of the Camels and acquire sole possession of the No. 3 berth.
Connecticut and Washington & Jefferson College (80 points) complete the Top Five.
