BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2025 Week 5/February 19 Women’s Varsity National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.

The University of Southern California and Stanford University continue to share top-billing in the National Top 25, while Pomona-Pitzer Colleges remains at No. 1 in the Division III Top 10 balloting.

Harvard University acquires sole custody of the No. 1 berth in the CWPA Division I Top Five, while Augustana College continues to reign in the CWPA Division III Top Five.

Voted on by a panel of coaches from around the country based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls will be compiled and released on Wednesday during the season starting the Wednesday following the first regular season contest.

2025 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 5)

The University of Southern California and Stanford University share the No. 1 ranking for a second week as the Trojans and Cardinal lead the Week 5/February 19 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Poll.

USC (98 points) and Stanford (98 points) lead a Top 10 which experiences minor changes in the tailend of the rankings as the University of California-Los Angeles (92 points), the University of California (88 points), the University of Hawaii (84 points) and the University of California-Irvine (77 points) remain at No. 3-to-6, respectively.

The first change comes at No. 7 as Fresno State (74 points) breaks a tie with the University of California-Davis to gain sole control of the position.  UC-Davis (72 points) falls into another tie as the squad is the equal of Long Beach State University (72 points) at No. 8.  A total of 11 teams hold a Top 10 position as Arizona State University (60 points) and the University of California-San Diego (60 points) share the No. 10 berth this week.

Harvard University (57 points), Princeton University (50 points), Loyola Marymount University (46 points) and Wagner College (38 points) stay at No. 12-to-15, respectively, with the University of Michigan (38 points) pulling ahead of Indiana University (37 points) by a single point at No. 16.

The University of California-Santa Barbara (32 points) and San Jose State University (32 points) enter a tie at No. 18 prior to San Diego State University (22 points), Marist College (18 points), California State University-Northridge (12 points), California Baptist University (10 points), Brown University (8 points) and Villanova University (6 points) completing the Top 25.

2025 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 (Week 5)

The Week 5/February 19 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 Poll remains predominantly unchanged as Pomona-Pitzer Colleges stays at No. 1.

Pomona-Pitzer (100 points), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (95 points), California Lutheran University (89 points), Chapman University (86 points), the University of La Verne (79 points) and Augustana College (76 points) and Macalester College (70 points) remain status quo at No. 1-to-7 with Occidental College (65 points) and Austin College (58 points) exchanging the No. 8 and 9 slots following a 14-11 victory by the Tigers versus the Kangaroos over the weekend.

Whittier College (33 points) once again concludes the Top 10 by holding down the final position.

2025 Women’s Varsity Collegiate Water Polo Association Top 5 (Week 5)

Harvard University breaks a tie with the University of Michigan to stand alone at No. 1 in the Week 5/February 19 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Top Five Poll.

Harvard (98 points) holds a four-point lead over 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022 league champion Michigan (94 points) after the teams were tied for the lead with 97 points last week.

2000, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2023 and 2024 league champion Princeton University (93 points), Brown University (84 points) and Bucknell University (66 points) complete the Top Five.

2023 and 2024 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Champion Augustana College continues as the top-ranked program in the Week 5/February 19 CWPA Division III Top Five Poll.

The Vikings (99 points) fall one point shy of remaining a unanimous top selection and see their lead over 2017, 2018 and 2019 CWPA Division III Champion Macalester College (96 points) shrink from seven (100-to-93) to three points this week.

2021 and 2022 CWPA Division III Champion Austin College (72 points) hangs on at No. 3 with Washington & Jefferson College (68 points) and Carthage College (66 points) rating at No. 4 and 5.
