BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2026 Week 4/October 1 Men’s Collegiate Club Top 20 and Division III Top 10 Polls.

Released each week during the season, the Top 20 and Division III Top 10 polls have no bearing on qualifiers for the National Collegiate Club Championship.

2026 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 (Week 4)

2025 Men’s National Collegiate Club Champion California Polytechnic State University continues at No. 1 in the 2026 Week 4/October 1 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 Poll.

The Mustangs (94 points) see the field move closer to either equaling or bettering the defending National Champions as the University of California-San Diego (92 points) moves within two points of Cal Poly.  The University of California (88 points) and San Diego State University (88 points) pull into a tie at No. 3 with California State University-Chico (73 points) taking over at No. 5.

Texas A&M University (56 points) breaks into the Top 10 at No. 6 with the duo of Michigan State University (55 points) and the University of California-Santa Barbara (55 points) tying at No. 7.  The University of Michigan (51 points), Florida International University (51 points) and previously unranked the University of Pittsburgh (51 points),complete the Top 10 in a three-way tie at No. 9.

The University of California-Los Angeles (36 points) moves up to No. 12 with the pair of Florida State University (35 points) and the University of California-Davis (35 points) tying at No. 13.

Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (31 points), previously unranked Cornell University (26 points) and the University of Southern California (22 points) rate at No. 15-to-17 with Iowa State University (21 points) and the University of Virginia (21 points) tying at No. 18.

The final position in the Top 20 belongs to two institutions as the University of Colorado (16 points) and the University of California-Irvine (16 points) share the final berth.

2026 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 (Week 4)

The University of California-Santa Cruz – which tied with New York University at No. 1 in the final 2025 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 Poll – retains sole custody of the top spot in the 2026 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 Week 4/October 1 Poll by a single point.

The Banana Slugs (98 points) fend off Augustana College (97 points) as the Vikings move from No. 4 to No. 2.  The United States Coast Guard Academy (90 points) also improves two spots by ascending from No. 5 to 3, while Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) (83 points) goes from No. 9 to No. 4.

NYU (81 points) falls from No. 2 to 5 with Macalester College (78 points), Bowdoin College (70 points), Tufts University (62 points), Washington University in St. Louis (59 points) and Carleton College (46 points) completing the Top 10.
