2022 Men’s Collegiate Club Atlantic Division Schedule
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases an altered 2022 Men’s Collegiate Club Atlantic Division schedule.
The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, which elected to withdraw from the division schedule on September 20, will compete in four exhibition games against Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech), the University of Virginia, the University of North Carolina-Wilmington and host North Carolina State University on the weekend of Saturday-Sunday, October 15-16, in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Further, the Atlantic/Mid-Atlantic “B” and “A” Championship schedules are adjusted on the weekend of Saturday-Sunday, October 22-23.
The “B” Championship – which now features the No. 5, 6, 7 and 8 regular season finishers from the Atlantic Division along with the No. 5, 6 and 7 teams from the Mid-Atlantic Division – experiences a change as the Atlantic Division decreased from eight teams with the loss of North Carolina. Previously a 12-game event at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pa., the “B” Championship will now feature 11 games in the City of Brotherly Love.
Further, one of the “A” Championship sites changes as the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pa., was previously penciled in to host competition on Saturday, October 22, with Villanova University in Villanova, Pa., claiming championship day hosting duties on Sunday, October 23. However, the site of competition on the opening day of action (October 22) moves as Villanova will now host the entire 12-game Atlantic/Mid-Atlantic “A” Championship during the weekend.
