BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) is seeking nominations for the 2019 Men’s Scholar-Athlete Team. Nominations are due by Friday, January 17, for varsity athletes in the Mid-Atlantic (MAWPC) and Northeast (NWPC) Water Polo Conferences along with all collegiate club student-athletes who competed during Fall 2019 season.
TheScholar-Athlete Team is open to all athletes (freshmen and up) that competed during the season.
To be selected, student-athletes must be active participants on the team and a full-time student at the institution which nominated them. Freshmen through graduate students are eligible for the award.
Nominees must achieve a 3.2 cumulative Grade Point Average or higher based on the most recent grades (spring semester for women).
Student-athletes were recognized in three levels: 3.2 to 3.4 (Excellent), 3.41 to 3.7 (Superior) and 3.71 to 4.0 (Outstanding).
In addition, varsity and club teams with cumulative GPA’s at or above 2.75 are recognized by the conference for overall excellence.
All nominations for the Scholar-Athlete Team can be submitted by email to haas@collegiatewaterpolo.org. Please list athletes with First & Last Name, Institution and GPA (i.e. John Smith XYZ University 3.95)
