BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The CWPA Remote series continues as Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Hall of Fame member George Gross, Jr., talks with Boston University alumna/squid biologist/Executive Director of “Skype a Scientist” Sarah McAnulty.

She talks about her time playing water polo at Boston University and the University of Connecticut. They go on to discuss “Skype a Scientist” – what it is, how it came to be, and how they are working to build trust for the scientific community.

McAnulty earned a bachelor’s degree in marine science at Boston University in 2011 and earned a doctorate from the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of Connecticut in 2019.  She studied immunology in cephalopods, focusing on Hawaiian bobtail squid.  McAnulty published a squid coloring book in 2018 entitled, “The Ink-credible Cephalopod Coloring Book”.

She founded “Skype a Scientist” in 2017 as a way to increase both trust in scientists and science literacy.
