BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) goes into the archives of the United States Naval Academy for a men’s game pitting the Midshipmen against the Tigers of the University of the Pacific from the 2007 Navy Labor Day Open.
The game occurred on Saturday, September 1, 2007, at Le Jeune Hall in Annapolis, Md., and marked the season-opener for both programs. Navy picked up the win in the game as the Midshipmen claimed a 13-12 victory in overtime. Navy fell behind 12-10 in the first of two three-minute overtime sessions, but rallied to tie the game at 12, then won it late in the second three-minute stanza on a goal by Johnny Meiners.
