BRONX, N,Y. — The Fordham University water polo team was invited to participate in the 2026 edition of The Pacific Cup, which will be held on Friday-Sunday, April 10-12, at the Eberhardt Aquatics Center on the campus of the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif.
The tournament features seven of the top collegiate water polo teams in the country with the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA), the University of Southern California (USC), Stanford University, Fordham, the University of California-Davis (UC-Davis), San Jose State University and the host Tigers of Pacific joining Team USA’s Youth National Team (U18) to round out the eight-team field.
Among the teams, UCLA (No. 1), USC (No. 2), Stanford (No. 3), Fordham (No. 5), San Jose State (No. 6) and UC-Davis (No. 7) comprise six of the seven top teams from the final/2025 Men’s National Top 20 Poll released on December 15 with No. 11 Pacific the sole competing collegiate squad from outside the Top 10. No. 4 the University of California is the lone team from among the Top Seven to not compete this year.
Each team will play twice on April 11 with the quarterfinal match-ups being Stanford-vs.-USC, UCLA-vs.-UC-Davis, Fordham -vs.-Team USA and Pacific-vs.-San Jose State.
The victors of the quarterfinals face-off later on April 11, while the losers will play out a consolation bracket with all play concluding on April 12.

Fordham, which ranked fifth in the final national polls and fifth in the country in team grade point average among men’s water polo programs, is the lone water polo team to rank in the top five nationally in both athletic accomplishment and academic success.
