BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Travis Bouscaren and Santiago Nunez of Brown University, Dennis Blyashov of Harvard University and Casey Conrad of Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Champion Princeton University are among 80 men and women recognized with 2018-19 Fall Academic All-Ivy honors from the Ivy League.
Recognized athletes were starters or key reserves on an officially recognized varsity team with 3.0 or better cumulative grade point averages. Each Ivy League institution (Brown, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton, Yale University) nominated five men and five women from its eligible student-athletes.
BROWN
Travis Bouscaren, Sr., Men’s Water Polo, Neuroscience (Cambridge, Mass./Phillips Andover Academy)
Finished the season with 56 goals, 20 assists and 29 steals…first-team All-NWPC…second-team NWPC All-Tournament Team…NWPC Player of the Week on October 9.
Santiago Nunez, Sr., Men’s Water Polo, Economics (Miami, Fla./Belen Jesuit Preparatory School)
Scored a career-high 16 goals in 2018, to go along with nine assists and 11 steals…three-time ACWPC All-Academic Team selection.
HARVARD
Dennis Blyashov, So., Men’s Water Polo, Economics (Carlsbad, Calif./Cathedral Catholic)
All-NWPC first team…NWPC first-team All-Tournament…NWPC Player of the Week on September 18…led the team with a career-high 81 goals on the season, while recording 37 assists, 13 steals and nine blocks…helped the Crimson to a historic win over then No. 3-ranked University of California with a career-high five assists…scored four or more goals in eight games…tied a single-game career-high with seven goals against Loyola Marymount University.
PRINCETON
Casey Conrad, So., Men’s Water Polo, Undeclared (Lafayette, Calif./Acalanes)
Led Tigers to a 3-0 record at the NWPC Tournament en route to MVP honors…finished the year with 28 goals, 17 assists, nine steals and eight blocks.
