STANFORD, Calif. — No. 8-ranked Princeton University punched its ticket to a 2:00 p.m. Pacific/5:00 p.m. Eastern Ninth Place game showdown with No. 15 Loyola Marymount University as the Tigers terrorized No. 16 California Baptist University, 12-8, and No. 14 University of California-Santa Barbara, 15-14 OT, on the second day of the 2026 Overnght/Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Invitational hosted by Stanford University.
Facing the Lancers of Cal Baptist, Ádám Peocz led Princeton with five goals and three assists as the Tigers drew 11 ejections and won three of four sprints to keep their foe at bay. Finn LeSieur (three) and Taylor Bell (three) joined Peocz in netting hat-tricks to accompany a solo strike from Tibi Cojocariu.
Kristóf Kovács recorded 10 saves on 18 shots faced.
Squaring off with UC-Santa Barbara to reach the Ninth Place game, seven Tigers found the back of the net to allow Princeton to escape the Gauchos in overtime.
Princeton, which posted 14 assists and drew 12 ejections in the victorious effort, also recorded eight steals and six field blocks to stymie the Santa Barbara scoring attack throughout the game.
Otto Stothart (five), Peocz (three), Bell (three) and Enrique Nuño (two) inflicted the bulk of the Tigers’ offensive damage, while Oliver Marcin, Gavin Appeldorn and Tas Palcza chipped in solo strikes to support a 14 save performance by Kovács.
