ERIE, Pa. — The Grove City College women’s water polo team returned to Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III conference play by dropping an 8-5 decision at Penn State Behrend in the Junker Center Natatorium.

Freshman Elizabeth Andrews (Newberg, Ore./Veritas) scored twice for Grove City, while junior Maggie Blume (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection), senior Abby Jank (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) and senior Grace Klimek (Oakdale, Pa./South Fayette) also scored goals.

Andrews, Jank, sophomore Sonni Kiefer (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) and sophomore Abby Spicher (Erie, Pa./McDowell) all recorded assists. Defensively, Kiefer collected eight steals while Jank had three steals.

In goal, senior Mary Frank (Centreville, Md./Queen Anne’s County) recorded seven saves. Each team scored once in the first quarter. Behrend led 5-2 at halftime and 6-3 after 24 minutes of play.
