BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalie Cleo Harrington (Jr., Costa Mesa, Calif./Newport Harbor) of No. 19-ranked Harvard University totaled 19 saves in two games of action at the Bucknell University Bison Invitational, including a season-high 15 stops in a 5-4 win over No. 21 Wagner College, to claim notice as the February 13 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Defensive Player of the Week.
She added four stops during the second half in a 12-2 victory over Gannon University as she replaced starter Sam Acker (So., Palo Alto, Calif./Gunn) as the duo split time in cage.
The award marks the seventh weekly league accolade of Harrington’s career as she shared the March 2 Defensive Player of the Week and took home the March 23 Rookie of the Week awards in 2015. In 2016, she earned accolades as the February 15, March 7, March 21 and March 28 Defensive Player of the Week.
