BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Ivy League produced coverage of Harvard University’s Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) home game against fellow Ivy League institution Brown University on Saturday, October 7, at Blodgett Pool will be broadcast to an international audience on ESPN3. Game time is set for 10:00 a.m.
A clash of the 2016/inaugural NWPC Champion (Harvard) versus the 2014 CWPA Champion (Brown), the game is a rematch of the 2016 NWPC Championship title game on November 20 at Princeton University in Princeton, N.J. The Crimson, which advanced to finish in a tie for Third Place at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship to equal the highest finish ever achieved by an East Coast program, captured the NWPC title by downing the Bears by an 11-7 final score. Further, the game marked the rubber-match between the two programs as Brown downed host Harvard by a 9-7 score on October 8 in Cambridge, Mass., prior to the Crimson returning the favor on October 29 in Providence, R.I. via a 9-8 win in overtime.
The game marks one of two NWPC games slated for broadcast on ESPN3 as Harvard’s meeting with Princeton on Saturday, October 28, at 8:00 p.m. in Cambridge, Mass. is also among the docket of 25 Ivy League Network (ILN) productions set for coverage on the network.
All events appearing on ESPN3 will also be simulcast on the ILN. In its fifth year as the primary home for Ivy League athletics, ILN features over 1,100 live events each academic year.
