BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Giorgio Cico (Jr., San Anselmo, Calif./Redwood) of Johns Hopkins University netted seven goals, six assists and seven steals during a 1-2 weekend for the Division III No. 4-ranked Blue Jays at the Princeton University Invitational to garner notice as the September 11 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Player of the Week.

He netted a goal with an assist and three steals in a 9-5 loss to host/No. 12 Princeton prior to putting away a hat-trick with four assists and two steals in a 12-9 defeat of Iona College. 

In JHU’s final game of the weekend, he tallied another hat-trick with an assist and two steals in an 8-7 loss to Division III No. 3 Chapman University.

The award marks the seventh weekly honor for Cico and his first in two years as he previously notched nods as the September 7, September 14, September 28, October 5, October 26 and November 23 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Southern Division Rookie of the Week during the 2015 season.
