BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Julie (Zedaker) Hannegan ’04 is among 22 individual and two teams who comprise the Grove City College Athletic Hall of Fame class for 2026. The group was announced by Vice President of Athletics Todd Gibson as part of the College’s Homecoming celebration on October 3.
The large class size is a one-time event that helps commemorate Grove City College’s 150th anniversary. The Hall of Fame inductees will be honored at various athletic events during the 2026-27 academic year as part of a year-long celebration of the College and its history.
The inaugural Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-America selection in program history, Hannegan compiled a school record 1,441 saves from 2001-to-2004 as part of the Wolverines’ under head coaches Keith Bullion and Dave Fritz. A native of Houston, Texas, and graduate of Cypress Creek High School, she totaled a school record 450 saves in 2003, 407 in 2004, 320 in 2002 and 272 in 2001 as a four-year starter during second-to-fifth seasons of women’s varsity water polo at Grove City.
She continued to give back to the sport as an assistant swimming and water polo coach at Salem University in Salem, W.Va., from August 2004-to-2006 while pursuing a Masters of Education in Coaching and Exercise Science.
The 2026-27 academic year represents the 20th anniversary of Grove City College establishing its Athletic Hall of Fame.
