2025 Long Island University Men’s Water Polo Schedule

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Long Island University released the institution’s men’s water polo schedule for the upcoming 2025 season.

Competition begins on Saturday-Sunday, August 30-31 as the Sharks face Wagner College, University of the Pacific and Fordham University at Brown University’s Bruno Classic in Providence, R.I.  LIU remains on the road at the Princeton Invitational hosted by Princeton University in Princeton, N.J., on Friday-Sunday, September 5-7, with the Sharks sinking their teeth into the United States Naval Academy, Wagner College and Mount St. Marys’ University.

Following meetings with George Washington University, Wheaton College (Mass.) and the host Midshipmen at the Navy Invitational in Annapolis, Md., on Friday-Sunday, September 12-14, Long Island concludes its season-opening series of road games at the Bucknell Invitational on Saturday, September 20, with meetings versus the Untied States Air Force Academy and Mount St. Mary’s at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa.

The Sharks’ Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) slate begins at home in Brooklyn, N.Y., during the weekend of Saturday-Sunday, October 4-5, as LIU hosts Princeton, Brown, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University.

Long Island heads back onto the road as the team travels to Iona University in New Rochelle, N.Y., on Sunday, October 12, for another NWPC contest prior to battling George Washington University, Salem University and Wagner on Saturday-Sunday, October 18-19, in Cambridge, Mass., at Harvard’s Crimson Classic.

The team heads to the West Coast for games against Orange Coast College (Thursday, October 23), the University of Redlands (Saturday, October 25), Cuesta College (Monday, October 27) and Diablo Valley College (Tuesday, October 28) before coming back to the East Coast for NWPC games at Princeton (Saturday, November 1) and in Brooklyn against Iona (Sunday, November 2).

The Sharks’ regular season concludes on Saturday-Sunday, November 8-9, in Cambridge, Mass., and Providence, R.I., at Harvard, MIT and Brown prior to the NWPC Championship on Friday-Sunday, November 21-23, back at Brown.

The victor of the NWPC Championship earns the league’s automatic bid to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship field.
