BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Lucille Moran (Sr., Ann Arbor, Mich./Huron) of 2017, 2018 and 2019 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Champion Macalester College is among 11 athletes selected to the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Division III District 6 Women’s At-Large Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

A 2017, 2018 and 2019 All-Conference First Team selection and a two-time league Most Valuable Player (2017, 2018), Moran helped lead the Scots to the program’s third consecutive CWPA Division III Championship.  A 2019 All-Tournament Second Team selection after earning Most Valuable Player and All-Tournament First Team recognition in 2017 and 2018, she is a three-time Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-America selection with a pair of Second Team (2017, 2018) honors and an Honorable Mention (2016) nod with 2019 honors yet to be named.

A Political Science major, she wrapped-up the 2019 season with 47 goals – including five at the CWPA Division III Championship hosted by Connecticut College – to conclude her intercollegiate career with 218 markers.

The 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Men’s and Women’s At-Large Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. Student-athletes must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.30 and be a starter or contributor to be considered for Academic All-District and All-America accolades.

The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes outstanding student-athletes in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.

The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.  District 6 comprises Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin in Division III.

Moran is among four women’s water polo players to earn Academic All-District status around the nation in 2018-19 as Maddie Kauahi of Pomona-Pitzer Colleges and Victoria Rose Meek of California Lutheran University earned Division III District 8 (Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Iowa, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, Canada) honors, while Makenzie Fischer of Stanford University collected Division I District 8 (Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Canada) laurels.

A total of six water polo players were recognized by CoSIDA as Andrea DiNardi of the University of the Pacific collected Division I District 8 status, while goalie Brett Rehrer (Sr., Chino Hills, Calif./Chino Hills) of Gannon University received Division II District 2 laurels.
