2026 Massachusetts Institute of Technology Men’s Water Polo Schedule
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) men’s water polo coach Alyssa Diacono announced the program’s 2026 schedule.
The Engineers will open the season on Saturday-Sunday, August 29-30, at Brown University in Providence, R.I., as MIT faces the United States Air Force Academy, California Baptist University, Wagner College and University of the Pacific. The team returns to the road on Saturday-Sunday, September 19-20, with games at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., versus Mercyhurst University, Mount St. Mary’s University and Salem University before heading back to New England for contests against Johns Hopkins University, Wheaton College (Mass.), Concordia University and Connecticut College on Saturday-Sunday, September 26-27, at Brown.
The Engineers will stay away from Cambridge, Mass., as the team travels to Long Island University (Saturday, October 3) in Brooklyn, N.Y., Princeton University (Saturday, October 3) in Princeton, N.J., and Iona University (Sunday, October 4) in New Rochelle, N.Y.
MIT will then remain in New England for the conclusion of the regular and Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) seasons as the Engineers host Brown (Saturday, October 10), Harvard (Sunday, October 11), Princeton (Saturday, November 7), Long Island (Saturday, November 7) and Iona (Sunday, November 8) to surround a road contest at Harvard (Sunday, November 1).
On the other side of Cambridge, the team will head back to Harvard for neutral site clashes with Biola University (Saturday, October 17), the University of California-Merced (Saturday, October 17), Connecticut (Sunday, October 18) and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (Sunday, October 18). MIT’s lone regular season game away from the Boston metro-area at the end of October-to-November occurs on Saturday, October 31, as MIT treks back to Providence for a road contest at Brown.
The NWPC Championship will also occur in New England as Harvard hosts the event on Friday-Sunday, November 20-22.
MIT’s season – if the team qualifies – will conclude on Saturday-Sunday, December 5-6, at the 2026 USA Water Polo Division III Collegiate Championship.
