2026 Mercyhurst University Men’s Water Polo Schedule
ERIE, Pa. — Mercyhurst University men’s water polo head coach Brandon Bricarell released the Lakers’ schedule for the 2026 season featuring 10 home matches.
The schedule kicks off at the Triton Invitational hosted by the University of California-San Diego in La Jolla, Calif., at the Canyonview Aquatic Center on Friday-Sunday, August 28-30. Mercyhurst returns to the East Coast to compete at the Salem Invitational hosted by Salem University in Salem, W.Va., on Saturday-Sunday, September 12-13, with contests versus Johns Hopkins University, Washington & Jefferson College and the host Tigers on tap.
A week later the Lakers return to the road by heading to the Bucknell Invitational at Bucknell University on Saturday-Sunday, September 19-20, with scheduled games versus the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Fordham University and Wagner College in Lewisburg, Pa.
Mercyhurst will get to play at home for the first time in 2026 on Friday-Sunday, September 25-27, as the Lakers host the Mercyhurst Inviational at the Hallman Aquatic Center in Erie, Pa., with slated contests versus Gannon University, Penn State Behrend, Bucknell and Mount St. Mary’s University.
The squad remains at home for games versus the United States Naval Academy and George Washington University on Saturday-Sunday, October 3-4, respectively, prior to a return voyage to Lewisburg for a road game at Bucknell on Saturday, October 10.
A swing through New York City on Saturday-Sunday, October 17-18, at Fordham and Wagner, respectively, occurs before a games versus Washington & Jefferson, McKendree University, Gannon and host Salem on Saturday-Sunday, October 24-25.
Back-to-back-to-back road games in the DMV (Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia) area at Mount St Mary’s in Emmitsburg, Md. (Saturday, October 31), Navy in Annapolis (Sunday, November 1) and George Washington in Washington. D.C. (Sunday, November 1) lead into another weekend in Erie on Saturday-Sunday, November 7-8, at the Hallman Aquatic Center, with clashes versus McKendree, Gannon, Penn State Behrend and Salem set to take place during the final few days of regular season action for the Lakers.
The Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Championship is scheduled for Friday-Sunday, November 20-22, at Bucknell’s Kinney Natatorium with the victor earning the league crown and an automatic berth into the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship field.
The 2026 NCAA Men’s Water Polo Collegiate Championship will take place on Friday-Sunday, December 4-6, at UC-San Diego’s Canyonview Aquatic Center in La Jolla, Calif.
