ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Continuing his torrid pace from the first day of 2022 season competition, Mount St. Mary’s University sophomore Tommaso Baldineti supplied 13 goals as the Mountaineers defeated Biola University in the morning game, 14-11, and Mt. San Antonio College in the afternoon, 16-11, at the United State Naval Academy’s Navy Open.
Facing Biola in the team’s first game of the day, the Mount found itself down at the half despite taking a 3-1 initial advantage. But in the second half, the Mountaineers surged forward thanks to five goals from Baldineti.
He recorded a hat trick’s worth in the third quarter alone as Mount St. Mary’s pulled ahead prior to the conclusion of the frame.
In the final game of the day, the Mountaineers topped Mt. San Antonio as Baldinetti (five) andAlexandros Bellesis (four) combined for nine of their team’s 16 goals.
