BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Sophomore/new California Polytechnic State University women’s collegiate club president Kayla Iles was recently named the KCPR Athlete of the Week.

A native of Riverside, Calif., Iles helped lead the Pacific Coast Division Champion Mustangs to a runner-up finish at the 2018 Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship hosted by the University of Washington at the Mt. Hood Community College Aquatics Center in Gresham, Ore., on Friday-Sunday, May 4-6.

Cal Poly, which fell to the University of California-Davis by a 5-4 score at Mt. Hood in the title game, appeared in its second second consecutive National Championship game after suffering a 9-8 setback to UC-Davis in the 2017 Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship finale at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pa.

KCPR is a student-organized, non-profit college radio station at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
