PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The No. 18-ranked Brown University men’s water polo team got off to a strong start at home during the Bruno Invitational as the Bears defeated Connecticut College, 17-12, and Division III No. 2 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, 14-10.

The Bears took care of business in the opener against Connecticut College as Jeremy Tachiki and Roberto Serrano each scored twice to lead the offense, while first-year Jackson Meleney netted his first career goal. Brown’s defense held firm throughout, keeping the Camels in check and setting the tone for the rest of the day.

The Bears carried that momentum into the second match against Pomona-Pitzer. Jaxson Tierney and Ilias Stothart played pivotal roles on both ends of the pool as Brown knocked off the Sagehens.
