PRINCETON, N.J. — No. 18-ranked Harvard University split a doubleheader at the 2023 Princeton University Invitational by falling to the host/No. 13 Tigers, 11-4, in Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) action before bouncing back with a 22-6 defeat of Iona University. The Crimson are now 8-2 on the season.

Facing Princeton, the 2022 CWPA Championship runner-up Crimson were unable to keep pace with the Tigers.

Brooke Hourigan scored three of the four Harvard goals, while Sasha Constandse picked up the other goal for the Crimson.

Erin Kim registered two steals in the loss.

In the nightcap against Iona, the Crimson had eleven different goal scorers find the back of the net.  The game marked the second time this season Harvard scored at least twenty goals as the squad previously claimed a 23-11 rout of Villanova University on January 29 at the Indiana University Invitational.

The quintet of Josie Mobley, Evan Tingler, Jaiden Miller, Ruby Hodge and Borden Wahl each scored one goal, while the trio Grace Thawley, Kim and Heidi Heffelfinger accounted for pairs.

Hourigan added another hat-trick.  Constandse also scored three goals and added two assists.

Kaity Greenwald registered Harvard’s third hat-trick of the game to accompany three assists by Wahl.

Zoe Banks evened her record at 1-1 on the day by making six saves to pick-up the victory.
