CAMBRIDGE, Mass. No. 19-ranked Harvard University began the annual Harvard Invitational by falling to No. 13 the University of California-Davis, 10-9, and downing Mercyhurst University, 22-5.

Against UC-Davis, Maya O’Dea was on fire after netting a hat trick in the effort.  Fellow first-year Emma Gilbert also added a hat trick, while Ruby Hodge and Erin Kim both added a goal and two helpers.

Sasha Constandse found the back of the net once in the morning game.

Facing Mercyhurst in the Crimson’s finale of the day, junior Dany Zapata, senior Annabel Facey and O’Dea led the Crimson in goals with three scores each.

Lily Britt added two goals and two assists to the Crimson’s totals. 

Harvard scored a  season-high 22 goals as 12 different  Crimson found the back of the net.

The team forced nine Mercyhurst turnovers.
