PROVIDENCE, R.I. — No. 21-ranked Harvard University topped host/No. 24 Brown University, 10-8, to clinch the No. 3 seed for the upcoming Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Championship at home in Blodgett Pool on Friday-Sunday, April 26-28.

Harvard – which concludes the regular season with a 5-5 league record to edge out Brown’s 4-6 record for the No. 3 seed – received three goals from Emma Gilbert in the victory.

Prior to the game, Brown celebrated the careers of seniors Sophie Golub and Sierra Martin. Golub tied for the team lead with with two goals for the Bears in the game by matching Madeleine Poissonnier‘s performance.

Claire Poissonnier and Golub both scored in the first quarter for Brown, while Ella Palmer and Poissonnier both scored in the second as Brown and Harvard were tied at four at halftime.

The Crimson outscored Brown 4-3 in the third quarter as Cleo Washer, Hanna Tidrenczel and Poissonnier each found the net for the Bears.

Harvard maintained its advantage throughout the fourth with Golub adding Brown’s only goal in the final quarter.

For the Crimson, Ella Prentice netted a pair of goals, while Ella Schneider chipped in a goal and an assist.  Ruby Hodge scored twice and tacked on a helper. Maya O’Dea had a goal and two assists, while Emma Gilbert led Harvard with three goals,
