PROVIDENCE, R.I. The No. 22-ranked Brown University women’s water polo team split two games on the final day of the 2026 Bruno Classic at home in the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center with a 14-5 defeat of Villanova University following a 12-9 loss to No. 7 Indiana University.

Brown battled in a close loss to Indiana by tying the game at five-all during the first half of the game. Ava Schoening and Samantha Kim both scored two goals, while Gaby Montalvo, Sofia Holman, Aubrie Anderson, Sofia Flierl and Cleo Washer also found the cage for the Bears.  

In goal, Sarah Decker blocked seven Hoosiers’ shots.

The Bears closed out the day with a 14-5 win over Villanova. Washer, Anderson, Schoening, Holman and Alexandra Love all scored two goals for Brown.

Decker finished with 12 saves to tame the Wildcats.

Brown jumped ahead early with a 4-1 lead after the first quarter and the Bears led 6-3 by halftime. Three goals in the third quarter prior to a 5-2 scoring advantage in the final quarter helped the home team coast to victory.
