LEWISBURG, Pa.  — No. 23-ranked Brown University returned to Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) action by claiming victories over Saint Francis University, 9-8, and host Bucknell University, 10-4, at Kinney Natatorium.

Brown overcame a four-goal deficit to comeback and beat Saint Francis to start the day. Claire Poissonnier and Aubrie Anderson led the Bears with three goals each.

Brown fell behind 6-2 after losing the second quarter 5-1. The Bears trailed 7-4 heading into the final eight minutes.

Brown’s offense exploded in the fourth quarter with four-straight goals. Poissonnier got the scoring started, followed by goals from Emily Suong and Anderson. Ella Palmer’s second goal of the game put Brown on top with just over two minutes left. Saint Francis tied the game with 1:41 on the clock but Anderson’s third goal of the game, with 14 seconds left, was the game winner for the Bears.

The Bears used a strong second half to take control in a victory over Bucknell to close out the day.

Palmer led Brown with four goals, while Hanna Tidrenczel and Anderson each had two.

After a scoreless first quarter, Brown and Bucknell were tied at two at the half. Brown got goals from Palmer and Gaby Montalvo in the third quarter to take a one-goal lead into the final eight minutes.

The Bears owned the final frame, scoring the first four goals in the fourth and outscored Bucknell 6-1 in the final eight minutes. Palmer had three goals in the final quarter for Brown.
