LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The No. 14-ranked Princeton University Tigers started off the first day of the SoCal Invitational hosted by Loyola Marymount University and the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) with a 14-6 loss to the No. 5 University of Southern California (USC) Trojans at LMU’s Burns Aquatic Center.
The Tigers started off quickly with the first two tallies of the game from Casey Conrad and Yurian Quinones, but the Trojans ran off a 6-2 push over the final five minutes of the frame to take a 6-4 advantage.
USC extended its lead in the second stanza to five, 9-4, before a goal by Wyatt Benson set the contest at 9-5 at halftime. The Tigers never threatened in the second half as USC rolled off four consecutive goals to open and picked up a 14-6 victory.
