BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) looks back to 2015 when the University of California celebrated capturing the Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vt. with an 11-5 victory over the University of Notre Dame.
California’s victory continued a string of dominance by the West Coast as nine (San Diego State University—2014; University of California-Davis—2013, 2012; California Polytechnic State University—2011, 2010, 2009, 2008; Fresno State University—2007) national championships at the time of the Golden Bears win had been won by either a Pacific Coast or Sierra Pacific Division team at the time of their victory. Since 2015, University of California-Santa Barbara and UC-Davis of the Pacific Coast and Sierra Pacific Divisions have added to the legacy.
