BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Princeton University’s Emese Batizi (So., Budapest, Hungary/Szent István Gimnázium) will compete for Hungary at the 2025 World Aquatics Women’s U20 Water Polo Championships on August 10-18 in Salvador, Brazil.

Hungary begins play in Group B with Greece, the United States and Italy.  The Hungarians commence action on Sunday, August 10, at 7:00 p.m. local/6:00 p.m. Eastern against the United States.  Following a 1:30 p.m local/12:30 p.m. Eastern game on Monday, August 11, against the Italy, Batizi will aim to lead her homeland to a defeat of Greece at 7:00 p.m. local/6:00 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, August 12, to conclude Group B competition.

In other groups, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Spain and Israel will battle in Group A, while Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Croatia contest Group C.  Canada, South Africa, China and Australia will clash in Group D.

Batizi will make her sixth appearance on the international stage after earning roster spots on Hungary’s U14 (2018-19), U15 (2019-20), U17 (2021-22) and U19 (2023-24) teams. 

During her inaugural season in the Garden State, Batizi appeared in 25 games, recording 26 goals, 25 assists and 22 steals as the Tigers finished the season as the runner-up at the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Championship.
