BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalie Katie Wilke (Fr., Burbank, Calif./Burroughs) of Saint Francis University recorded four double-digit save totals to conclude a five-game weekend with a total of 57 stops in claiming laurels as the February 20 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Defensive Player of the Week.
A first-time weekly honor recipient from the league office, Wilke stopped 10 shots in a 10-7 loss during the Red Flash’s home-opener versus George Washington University on Friday, February 17, prior to facing Grove City College (14-5 W, seven saves), the Virginia Military Institute (17-11 L, 11 saves, two steals), Gannon University (15 saves, two steals) and Siena College (14 saves, one steal) at the Mercyhurst University Invitational in a 2-3 weekend for Saint Francis.
In addition, she added an assist versus Siena.
