BRIDGEPORT, Pa — Seven Connecticut College women’s water polo student-athletes were named to the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Spring All-Academic Team.
To be honored on the all-academic team, an individual must have reached sophomore academic standing and be in good standing on their team with a cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.40. A transfer student must have completed at least one year of study at the institution.
April Anderson (Sr., Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais), Paige Cackovic (Sr., New Albany, Ohio/New Albany), Peri Hummel (Jr., Middlebury, Conn./Pomperaug), Kaitlin Reagan (So., Saratoga, Calif./St. Francis), two-time selections Sarah Nappo (Sr., Portland, Maine/Cheverus) and Sophia Soriano (Sr., Summerland, Calif./Cate School) along three-time selection Shannon Cry (Sr., Monterey, Calif./Monterey) all earned nods as a total of 69 Connecticut athletes were a among 1,165 NESCAC spring student-athletes recognized for academic excellence.
Overall, women’s outdoor track & field team placed an institution high 16 student-athletes on the all-academic team. Men’s outdoor track & field (9), men’s lacrosse (8), sailing (7), women’s water polo (7), women’s lacrosse (6), women’s rowing (6), men’s rowing (5), women’s tennis (4) and men’s tennis (2) all had at least one student-athlete earn a position on the team.
