PALO ALTO, Calif. — Stanford University Athletics is seeking a Women’s Water Polo Assistant Coach to assist the Head Women’s Water Polo coach with recruiting, coaching, and developing a championship-caliber team.

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: coaching student-athletes, recruiting, game management, video coordination, scouting, statistics and analytics, practice organization, player development, external relations, engaging with athletic department colleagues and faculty, camps, compliance, travel, and other administrative duties as assigned. This role is an onsite fixed-term role. 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Help plan and organize team training and practice sessions.
  • Assist with recruiting student-athletes to compete at Stanford. Follow NCAA guidelines and University standards and policies in coordinating recruiting efforts.
  • Understand and apply NCAA regulations to all aspects of the program. Must pass an exam on an annual basis on NCAA regulations. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or her designee.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Previous Division I or National Team playing or coaching experience OR demonstrated success in high-level age group club coaching. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
  • Ability to use technology for player development and statistical and video analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of projects 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Cooperation and collegiality with the Athletic Department, Stanford Campus, and Water Polo communities

The expected pay range for this position is $70,250- $72,500/annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
