BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Shristi Bandyopadhyay (Fr., Fremont, Calif./Washington) of No. 2-ranked the University of California-San Diego tallied 12 goals, seven assists and 10 steals to accompany two ejections and a five-meter penalty shot drawn during a 4-0 weekend for the Tritons to earn status as the February 17 Women’s Collegiate Club Southwest Division Player of the Week.
Competing at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Ariz., during the second and final regular season weekend of Southwest Division competition, Bandyopadhyay helped UC-San Diego dispatch No. 9 San Diego State University “A” (12-9 W), San Diego State “B” (17-4 W), the University of California-Irvine (20-8 W) and the host Wildcats (18-1 W) to conclude the regular season with an 8-0 mark in division action.
The No. 1 seed for the Southwest Division Championship on Saturday-Sunday, March 1-2, at home in La Jolla, Calif., the team will seek to earn a berth to the 2025 Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship slated for Friday-Sunday, April 11-13, at Colby College in Waterville, Maine.
