ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The University of Michigan seeks an assistant coach for the institution’s women’s water polo program.

The position will be responsible for assisting with all phases of a Division I program, within University, Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA), Big Ten Conference, and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to coaching student athletes, recruiting prospective student-athletes, assisting in scouting and preparation, assisting in practice planning and design, and performing public relations for program.
What You’ll Do:
- Responsible for organizing team travel, team itineraries as well as meals
- Updating compliance information in terms of recruiting and CARA
- Organizing camps and clinics
- Responsible for all communication with our team manager about scheduling, video, team travel
- Alumni Outreach – this includes alumni events and communicating updates to alumni
- Video of games and practice – knowledge of HUDL, Sportscode and Spiideo
Required Qualifications*:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Previous coaching and/or playing experience
- Thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and intercollegiate athletics
- Knowledge and/or experience of the recruitment process
- Previous playing experience at a highly competitive level
- Must work with and communicate effectively with all team members and support staff within Michigan Athletics and the UM community.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess excellent computer and technical skills
- Must be able to successfully complete a background check and NCAA recruiting test.
- Ability to train and motivate student-athletes
Desired Qualifications*:
- Coaching and playing experience at the NCAA Division I level preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Sportscode, Hudl and Spiideo
