WHITTIER, Calif. — Whittier College, located in Whittier, Calif., is seeking qualified applicants for the part-time position of assistant coach for the institution’s men’s and women’s water polo programs.
Whittier is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III institution that is a conference member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), has an enrollment of 1,000 students and sponsors 18 varsity sports.
This is a part-time, non-benefits, hourly position. Application review will begin upon receipts and the position will remain open until filled.
Responsibilities:
- Recruiting
- Student-athlete development
- Practice & meet day coaching
- Team transportation & driving
- Meet management
- Administrative office duties
- Other duties as assigned by head coach or Executive Director of Athletics
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and collegiate competition and/or coaching experience
- Successful candidate will be self-motivated and will have demonstrated ability as a strong communicator and multi-tasker
- Successful candidate will maintain a strong commitment to the academic achievement of student-athletes in a diverse student population
- Knowledge and commitment to SCIAC and NCAA Division III policies
- Strong interpersonal still are necessary
